Aerosol Or Pump? Choosing The Right Format For A Body Spray

It is one of the first decisions on any body spray project, and it changes the cost, the regulatory path and the shipping classification. Neither answer is universally right.

Where aerosol wins

Particle size. An aerosol valve and propellant combination delivers a noticeably finer, drier mist than a mechanical pump at the same price point. For deodorant, dry shampoo and sun care, that difference is the product.

Where a pump wins

Logistics. Aerosols are classified as dangerous goods, which changes packing, documentation and often the freight rate. If your volumes are small or your market is hard to reach, a pump or a squeeze format can be the difference between shipping and not shipping.

The middle option

Bag-on-valve aerosols sit between the two: propellant never touches the formula, the can empties completely, and the regulatory story is simpler than a traditional aerosol. We run all three formats, so the recommendation you get is based on your brief rather than on the equipment we happen to own.
